There is a romantic notion
in the overwhelming silence
that drawing blood can bring.
Its like a pull to another person.
Its like an aching to get close.

And I don't know how to get on
off to tomorrow, without it
but my history only shows me:
just take a breath; you will.

There is a sexy curvature
to this glass that I caress like
it's the only thing that I have left.
Like the ocean I can drown in.
Like I need its fuzz to last.

And I don't know how to go out
up off my bed, without it
but never mind my darker days;
